Jerome was a son of Herbert Arthur Adams & Marjorie True Carter.

He was married on 2 Mar 1946 to Esther A. Abbott.

MADISON - Jerome M. (Melville) Adams, 77, of Madison, died Monday, Dec. 4, 1995, at the Maplecrest Nursing Home in Madison.
He was born in Solon on Jan. 23, 1918, the son of Herbert and Marjorie (Carter) Adams, Sr.
He was married to the former Esther E. Abbott on March 2, 1946.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic for several construction firms in the area, including W.H. Hinman, Blue Rock Construction, Woodtek and Merle Lloyd and Son; he also served for four years as Road Commissioner for the town of Madison.
He was a member od the Tardiff-Belanger American Legion Post and the Harvell-Bishop Veterans of Foreign Wars; a member of the Kennebec Valley Grange; a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Madison.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Esther E. Adams of Madison; two daughters: Audrey Schoppee and Lorraine Arsenault, both of Madison; one son-in-law, David J. Arsenault of Madison; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers: Albre Adams of Washington state, Raymond Adams of Meriden, Conn. and Herbert Adams Jr. of Bryant Pond; two sisters: Lula Adams of South Portland and Carolyn Bridges of Portland; nieces and nephews.
A brother, Arthur Adams and a son-in-law, Eugene Schoppee, died previously.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Nelson J. Smart Funeral Home, 40 Maple St. Madison.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Calvary Pentecostal Church, 156 Old Point Ave., Madison, with the Rev. Timothy Haynes officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Solon in the spring.
