Mrs. Nancy Cathleen [sic] Graham, 89, one of the Wellington area's oldest citizens, died Friday, Nov. 21, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. A.D. Alexander, of Mobeetie. The deceased had been a resident of Collingsworth county for 27 years and had made her home in Texas and Oklahoma for about 48 yeyars [sic].

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday afternoon following from the First Baptist church in Wellington, with Rev. J.P. Neal, pastor, in charge. Interment was in the Quail cemetery.

A native of Corinth, Mississippi, Mrs. Graham was born Nancy Cathleen Bowie, on Jan. 14, 1852, and at the time of her death was 89 years, 10 months and seven days of age. She was a relative of James Bowie, one of the immortal defenders of the Alamo.

She grew to womanhood at Corinth and about 70 years ago was married to G.W. Graham, who preceded her in death in 1900.

Upon leaving Mississippi 48 years ago, the family came to the Indian Territory, but after a few years moved to East Texas. She located at Wellington with her children 27 years ago and during recent years had spent her time visiting among them.

She had been for many years a member of the Baptist church, and served it devotedly.
