PALACIOS — Elmer Herbert Abraham, 83, of the Carancahua community near Palacios, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday in a Bay City hospital.
He was born July 7, 1902, in New London, Iowa, to the late Carl and Hilda Larson Abraham. A resident of the Carancahua community since 1909, he was a retired farmer, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palacios, and a member of the Woodmen of the World since 1938.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Taylor Brothers Palacios Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ray Boykin officiating. Burial will be in the Olivia Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Ethel Swenson Abraham of Palacios; four daughters, Lorraine Ruggs of Clear Lake City, LaVern Zandanel of Monessen, Pennsylvania, Betty Amador of Olivia and Sandra Dudley of San Antonio; three sons, Robert Abraham and Dennis Abraham, both of Palacios and Herbert Abraham of Washington, D.C.; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include Carroll Abraham; Paul Abraham, Wayne Abraham, Allen Abraham, Lawrence Abrahamson and Mark Greenawalt.
