Linda M. Barry, 57, of Decatur, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, March 10, 2007, in her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, in Holy Family Catholic Church, Fr. Joe Molloy celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before the mass in the church with burial to be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Linda was born on December 31, 1949 in Decatur, the daughter of James and Rosemary (Gaddis) Roderick. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She worked for 35 years as an LPN in the OB Departments at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, and St. Clements Hospital in Red Bud. She also worked as a nurse at Adventis Health Systems in Decatur. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She married John D. Barry on March 4, 1972 in Decatur.
She is survived by her husband, John; mother, Rosemary (Dallas) Morris of Decatur; sons: David (Angie) Barry of Fairview Heights, and Phillip (Amy) Barry of Springfield; sister, Rosemarie (Kenny) Bean of Decatur; grandchildren: Alex Barry and Joey Barry of Fairview Heights, Taylor "My Sweetie Pie" Barry of Springfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, James "Bud" Roderick; brothers: Patrick Roderick, Jerry Roderick and James Michael Roderick.
