Mrs. Hazel Gifford, 67, Dies Sunday in Topeka
Mrs. Hazel T. Gifford, 67, co-owner of Rest Haven Motel in Topeka, died Sunday in a hospital there.
Born November 7, 1895 in St. Marys, Mrs. Gifford lived in Topeka about 40 years. She was a daughter of the late Mrs. Rosa Nemnich of Onaga.
She maintained her home at the motel. Before entering the motel business 15 years ago, she operated a beauty shop in Topeka.
Survivors include her widower, John C. Gifford of the home; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Venneberg of Bentonville, Ark., and Mrs. Bertha Miller, Lawrence; and two brothers, Milton Tillotson, Salina, and Earl Tillotson, Bentonville.
Services were held at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon in Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary with burial in Rochester Cemetery.
