Mary Elizabeth "Bet" Johnson was the daughter of James C. and Catherine Elkins Johnson. She married Christopher "Tip" Hollingsworth on 12 September 1886 at the Prospect Baptist Church in Bois d'Arc, MO. The couple became the parents of six children: Elmer N., Lum Herman, Ada, Stella May, Tressa Dallas, and Byrd Ethmer. Grandma Hollingsworth was especially known for her beautiful handmade quilts. The photo at right was taken in March 1966 (part of a 5-generation photo in which she was the eldest and I was the baby).
