Funeral services for R. L.( Bob) Hobby, 74, of Route 1, Ashburn (in Worth County), who died Dec. 9 at the Worth County Hospital, were held at 3 p.m. Dec. 10 at Red Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. W. T. Bodenhamer officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lane Posey, Wayne Kilcrease, Buddy Woolard, Grady Giddens, James Boyd and Belton Dykes. Honorary pallbearers were Claude Kilcrease, Leo Pritchard, Nick Powell, D. S. Hudson, S. B. Castleberry, Leon Houston, Sr. S. A. Moore, W. R. Camp, Millard Branch, Wesley Dozier, Paul Tison, Jack Paul, Earl Raines and J. W. Warren
Born May 10, 1894, in Worth County, Mr. Hobby was the son of the Late Robert Berrien and Katherine Culpepper Hobby . He had spent his life here and was a member of the Red Oak Baptist Church. His wife, Mrs. Ossie Verner Hobby, died in 1962.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Luther Leverett, Oakfield; two sons, Ralph B. Hobby, Route 1, Ashburn and the the Rev. Glenn Hobby, Sylvester, and three grandchildren.
