Mildred C. Kottlowski Dost, 87, Greenfield, died Sunday, June 22, 2003 at Regency Place Nursing Home, Greenfield.
Born on Jan. 12, 1916 in Hancock County, she was the daughter of Charles F. and Caroline Spier Kottlowski.
She graduated from New Palestine High School, New Palestine on Apr. 25, 1935 and from Indiana College of Beauty Culture in Indianapolis on Dec. 6, 1935.
She married Arnold William Dost on June 3, 1939 at Zion Lutheran Church, New Palestine.
Mrs. Dost was a beautician at Mildred's Beauty Shop for more than 50 years, retiring in 1985. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, New Palestine, where she was active in Ladies Aid, Zion Circle and LWML. Mrs. Dost was also a member of Friendly Neighbors Home Economics Club and the New Palestine Lions Club.
Survivors include son Richard W. Dost, Kokomo; daughters Marcia Dost Robertson, New Palestine and Arnola Dost Coffman, Cloverdale; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were husband Arnold William Dost on May 16, 1983; parents Charles F. and Caroline Kottlowski; sister Gertrude Fisher; brothers Walter and Erwin Kottlowski; grandson Gregory Richard Dost.
Visitation will be held on Tues. June 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary, Greenfield Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Wed. June 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, New Palestine, with calling from 9:30 a.m. Rev. Ronald Baumann will be officiating.
Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, New Palestine.
