p. 1:
"A Sad Death
In the flush of young womanhood, the pride of fond parents, and esteemed by all who knew her, Miss Fannie Armstrong, daughter of Senator John Armstrong and wife, of a few miles northeast of town, died at 1:20 Saturday afternoon, of diphtheria. She had been ill but about a week, and all that human skill could accomplish was done to save her, but without avail. Frances E. Armstrong was 25 years and one day old; she was a lady of sweet temper and lovable character, with a promise of a happy life before her. Many sincere friends most deeply deplore her untimely death."
