He was born May 5, 1930 in Portland, Michigan, the son of Leroy N. Sr. and Bernice E. (Hale) Darling.
Bill had been married for 51 years.
He lived in this area all of his life. He was employed by the Lakewood School System, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, wood working, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Darling was preceded in death by a son, Wellman "Bill" Darling Jr., his mother and father, a brother, Leroy "Pete" Darling Jr.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, 2 daughters, 19 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, three sisters, numerous nieces and nephews.
