Chester Adams Cleveland, son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Cleveland, of 128 Elm street, died early Tuesday morning at a Boston hospital. He had been unconscious for several weeks and had been ill for over two years. His illness followed an operation. He was born in Somerville, April 6, 1883, and had lived in Cambridge the greater part of his life. He was graduated from the Cambridge English High school In 1902, and the Rindge Technical school In 1908. While In School he took a prominent part in athletics and was one of the finest schoolboy athletes ever developed In Cambridge. He played quarterback on "Big Al" Fletcher's famous football team at Rindge which gave Somerville a decisive beating. He was also a fine baseball player and was a good hockey player. After leaving Rindge he went to Burdett college from which he graduated. For several years 'he was office manager for Phelps & Bradley, wholesale furniture dealers, in Boston. The funeral services were held from his late residence Thursday afternoon, and were conducted by Rev.Lucius R. Paige, of the Third Universalist church. The body was placed in a receiving tomb at the Cambridge cemetery- It will later be buried in the family lot at Pepperell, Mass.
