‎ ‎ ‎ Services for Harold F. Arnold, 68, of Boise, formerly of Nampa, who died Saturday, July 27, at a Boise hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The Rev. David E. Guard, pastor of the Nampa Southside Boulevard United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery.
‎ ‎ ‎ Mr. Arnold was born Dec. 25, 1916, at Milltown, Wis., to Fred W. and Iola A Richman Arnold. At a young age he moved with his family to Yoder, Wyo., where he was reared and educated, graduating from high school there. After his schooling, he farmed in Wyoming. He entered the U.S. Army on Jan. 17, 1945, and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on Nov. 29, 1946. After his discharge he moved to Muskogee, Okla., where he worked as a carpenter.
‎ ‎ ‎ He married Mamie Lou Myers on July 25, 1949, at Van Buren, Ark., and they lived in Muskogee. In January of 1958, they came to Nampa. He continued in the construction business in Nampa for many years. They also owned and operated the Arnold's Self Service Laundry on 12th Avenue Road in Nampa for five years. He retired in 1977 and that same year they moved to Boise, where they had since made their home. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
‎ ‎ ‎ He is survived by his wife of Boise; two daughters, Lela Walker of Boise and Iola "Olie" Peppley of Nampa; three sisters, Arnell V. Stone of Riverton, Wyo., Evelyn Montgomery of Phoenix, Ariz., and Myrtis Hovinga of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Mervin J. Arnold of Muskogee, Okla.; four grandsons; one granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
‎ ‎ ‎ He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Hal Ray Arnold, in 1955.
