Myrtle O. Pratt Smith of Lindsay, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Myrtle was born on December 7, 1924 in Hughes Community, Oklahoma to C.S. Pratt, Sr. and Viola (Duncan) Pratt. She married Amos Smith.
Myrtle was a member of the Church of Christ in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She sold Avon, worked at the Erin Springs Lunch Room, worked as a Nurse's Aide at Lindsay Hospital and sewed for the public. Myrtle loved crocheting, sewing, quilting and reading. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Christopher Sean Smith and wife Marcia of Tuttle, Oklahoma, two daughters, Sandra Fiona Shetter of Burleson, Texas and Laura Beth Jack and husband Joe of El Dorado, Kansas, Amos Smith of Lindsay, Oklahoma, three brothers; Clarence Pratt and Bob Pratt, both of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Keith Pratt of Texas, her grandchildren; Hailey, Cassie, Matthew and Molly Smith of Tuttle, Oklahoma, Daniel Tillery of Maysville, Oklahoma, Brandy Ford and husband Terry, Lori Kohl and husband Thomas, Deidre Leslie and husband Jim and Indy Shetter, all of Burleson, Texas, Shannon Sommers and husband Doug of Towanda, Kansas and Ashlie Jack of El Dorado, Kansas. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren; Nate Sommers and Logan Sommers of Towanda, Kansas, Shae Ford, Emily Ford, Madeline Kohl, West Kohl, Ashlyn Leslie-Hodge, Hannah Leslie and Kellie Beth Leslie, all of Texas.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, C.S. Pratt and Viola Duncan Pratt, one son-in-law, Kenneth Shetter, one grandchild, John Mark Tillery, one great-grandchild, Bayleigh Stovall, two brothers; Charley Pratt and Clyde Pratt and one sister, Francella Webb.
Funeral services for Myrtle are set for eleven o'clock a.m. on Tuesday, September 6th, 2011 at the Church of Christ on Hwy 19 West in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Brant Stubblefield officiating and Rick Popejoy assisting. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
