Abbott, Mary
Mrs. Mary J. Abbott, widow of the late Silas Abbott, died at her home, 117 East Seventy-Sixth street, Montavilla, April 18. The body was buried in Brainard Cemetery April 21, the funeral service being held at Montavilla Methodist Episcopal Chuch. Rev. Harold Oberg preached the funeral sermon. Mrs. Abbott was born in Stephen County, Indiana, August 11, 1833. She was formerly Miss Mary J. Webb. She married Mr. Abbott in Illinois, and they came to Oregon 22 years ago. She had six children, four of whom are living: John, of Charleston, Ill; Mrs. Anna Gibson of Oberlin, Kan; William and Mrs. Emma Higgins, both of Portland.
