The son of William Pleasant Ousley and Lena Leotia Fitzgerald, Earl married Marjorie Ann McQuay on 13 Jun 1921 in Ripley County, Missouri. They were the parents of 4 children.

Earl was a truck driver. He worked for Reed Brothers Transfer Company in St. Louis, Missouri for a time.

Earl had a history of arteriosclerotic heart disease. He was taken to St. John's Mercy Hospital on 18 Nov 1971, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Doctors attributed his death to "unknown natural causes." He was 72 years, 1 month and 13 days old.

He was survived by his wife, Marjorie; 2 daughters, Juanita Smith and June Malson; 1 son William Ousley; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.

In addition to his mother and father, Earl was preceded in death by 1 son, Richard Ousley.

Funeral services were conducted on 20 Nov 1971 at Baumann's Colonial Chapel on Woodson Road in Overland, St. Louis County, Missouri.

Earl's wife, Marjorie, passed away in 1991 and was buried next to him.
