Frederick George Hearn, 79, of 31 South Mann Avenue, Yeagertown, died at 5:04 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 1974, in Lewistown Hospital. He was born on February 27, 1895, in Pittsburgh, a son of William Blair and Claire (Weston) [“Maggie Clare Weston" Hearn. He was twice married. His first wife, the former Stella Marie Steffen, died on December 28, 1964. He is survived by his second wife, the former Verda G. Steffen Copenhaver. Two daughters survive, Mrs. Charles (Marie) Smith of Yeagertown and Mrs. Benjamin (Mary E.) Crago of Lewistown, R. D., along with ten step-children: Frank Copenhaver, Jr. of Lock Haven, R.D. 1; Robert Copenhaver of Avis; Kenneth, Dale and Glen Copenhaver all of Lock Haven, Star Route; Allan Copenhaver of Lock Haven; Mrs. Donald (Patty) Duncan of Franklinville, N.J.; James Copenhaver of Lock Haven, Star route; Mrs. Don (Jean) Flanigan of Avis; and Mrs. John (Janet) Shade of Lock Haven, R.D. 1. Mr. Hearn had four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, 34 step-grandchildren, and 15 step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by eight brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mabel Musser of Yeagertown, John R. of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Marshall (Alice) Croyle of Hummelstown, Martin L. of Baltimore, Md., Charles of Lewistown, Chester E. of Harrisburg, Robert E. of Mohrsville and Mrs. David (Ada) Ross of Enola, R.D. Employed by Standard Steel Works as a welding inspector, Mr. Hearn retired in 1960 after 45 years service. He was a member of the Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Yeagertown. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 123, at Hoenstine funeral home 75 Logan Street, Lewistown. The Rev. Dean Rupe, his pastor, will officiate, and interment will be made in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening.
