James A. Goff of Decatur died at 1:30 o'clock Monday morning at the home of his brother at Barnard, Nodaway county, Mo., where he had been visiting for about a month. He was a brass worker and was employed at the Fairies factory here for seven years, and it is said that his health suffered on account of this kind of work. He began to fail on Feb. 25 and quit his position at the factory, but his condition did not become serious until about
three weeks ago. The immediate cause of his death was acute nephritis. His age was fifty nine years, eleven months and eleven days. The body was brought to Decatur Tuesday morning and taken to the family residence, 151 East Cerro Gordo street.
Mr. Goff leaves his wife and and two sons: William T. and Alvin Goff, both of Decatur. He also leaves five brothers
Edward H. Goff of Deer Creek, Okla., William K. Goff of St Joseph. Mo.; E. H. Goff, M. C. Goff and John A. Goff of Barnard. Mo. He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. L. W. Fribourg of Decatur.
FUNERAL WEDNESDAY.
The funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the East Side Christian church, of which he was one of the deacons. The interment will be at Greenwood.

The funeral of James A. Goff was held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the East Side Christian church.
There was a large attendance. The board of deacons and the entire congregation attended in a body. The department
in which he was employed at the Faries factory was closed down during the funeral and the employes attended the funeral in a body and acted as an escort to the cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. O. P. Wright. The music was furnished by the regular choir of the church. The
flowers were in charge of Mrs. Rambo, Mrs. Noble, Mrs. Hickman and Mrs. O. P. Wright. The pallbearers were Roy
Miller, Jesse Noble, J. V. Herring, Claude Frederick. W. R. Hughes and Charles Koch. The interment was at Greenwood.
