Mary Reiss Brixius oldest son was Charles Joseph Stricker. There were some records that listed Charles as Charles Brixius. After he was older he used his legal last name of Stricker. Charles was born Aug. 20, 1875 in Aurora, Kane Co., Illinois. He married Myrtle L. Beer on Jan. 13, 1904. Myrtle was the daughter of William L. Beer and Mary Elizabeth Ball. She was born May 27,1885 in Logan, Antelope Co., Nebraska. Charles had gone to Logan to work and he met Myrtle who was ten years younger. After their marriage they moved to Battle Creek, Madison Co., Nebraska.
Charles and Myrtle were the parents of eight children. All of the children were born in Battle Creek, Madison Couny, Nebraska.
By 1930 they had moved to Long Pine, Brown County, Nebraska.
When their children were grown and married they moved with them to Sutter County, California. This is were Charles and Myrtle are buried.
