Knolton Broach, 71, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, formerly of Cleveland County, died Saturday, November 4, 2000, at JRMC, at Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Born at Kingsland, Cleveland County, on January 17, 1929, he was the son of the late Bufford Broach and Gladys Wooten Broach.
He moved his family to Pine Bluff, Arkansas in 1952.He worked for the Pine Bluff Police Department from 1952 to 1965, and was an avid gardener and enjoyed raising horses. He worked as a pipe fitter, and was a member of Matthew Memorial Baptist Church.
In 1985, Mr. Broach started a wagon train, which made several trips around the area, including those to the Pine Tomato Festival in Warren, Arkansas. The wagon train made trips to the festival at Warren from 1985 through 2000, and was left for other to continue with those trips.
Mr. Broach was preceded in death by three sisters; Bertha Foley, Eva Mae Berry, Opal Shedd, a brother; Charles Broach and a Daughter: Kay Cress.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years whom he married September 28, 1946, Frances Cook Broach, a daughter; Judy Francis, five sisters; Eudean Doss, Annie Granderson, Peggy Roberts, Delma May, and Vera Ratliff, 3 grandchildren 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephew.
Funeral services were on Tuesday morning November 7, 2000, at Matthew Memorial Baptist Church by Bro. Lyle Hern.
Burial was Broach Cemetery, near Kingsland, Arkansas; Hale-South was in charge of the arrangements.
