Cherry Thompson went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, April 18, 2010, due to heart complications.
Graveside service: 1 p.m. Wednesday in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Rus Brown, Robert Elliot, Ryan Williamson, Cavin Stephens, Walter Ethridge and Pat O'Connor.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Cherry Thompson to the James L. West Hospice House, 1111 W. Summit Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76102.
Cherry was born March 13, 1936, in Fort Worth, where she was raised, and graduated from Pascal High School. She started working at Continental National Bank in 1959, and she was one of the original founders of Summit National Bank. She retired in 2004. She was a member and treasurer of Fellowship Bible Church of Burleson. She loved to travel and was an avid sports fan. She loved her family and friends very much.
Survivors: Sons, Ricky Lynn Thompson and wife, Bridgette, Mark Rossell Stephens and wife, Darlene, and Ronnie Charles Thompson and wife, Sharon; daughters, Billie Jan Reynolds and Cherry Leann Thompson-Newman and husband, Ronnie; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Nita Jo Brown and husband, Lewis; uncle and aunt, Paul and Lynn Austin.
