Married Jennie Eliza Jones on 27 Sep 1871 (No Missouri marriage record) and had 9 children with her. Seven known; Annie, Bessie, Charles, Frank, William, Eugene and Lawrence Caster. On her 1900 census she the mother of nine, seven surviving and on her 1910 census 5 surviving.
Obituary from the Weekly Democrat-Forum & Maryville Tribune 16 Feb 1899, pg. 2:
William B Caster was born in Holmes county, Ohio, August 5, 1837, and in 1839 emigrated from there with his father, Sampson Caster, coming to Missouri the spring of 1843, and settling in Gentry county in 1844. Mr. Caster joined the Sixth Missouri state militia and achieved the rank of captain. In February 1863, he was appointed county clerk to fill a vacancy and in the fall of 1864 was elected to the same position for two years. He discharged the duties of the office so satisfactorily the he was kept continuously in the place until 1870. He died Saturday, January 28, 1899.
