Born Martha Burton Alston, Pattie Alston married Dr. Walter Baker Jordan. She was daughter of Dr. William W. Alston and Mary Elizabeth Burton, and she was granddaughter of Gov. Hutchins Gordon Burton and Sarah Welsh Jones of North Carolina.

Pattie Alston Jordan and Dr. Walter Baker Jordan lived at "Springfield" farm in Carrollton from their marriage in 1871 until the death of Dr. Walter Baker Jordan.

In 1895, Pattie married her second husband Henry R Parker and had one son, John Riley Parker. Henry R Parker had been a close friend of the family and served as one of the pallbearers in the funeral of Dr. Walter Baker Jordan. A few years after the death of Mr. Parker, Pattie sold "Springfield" in 1907 to her brother-in-law (Joe Jordan) and moved the children to the Berkeley section of Norfolk along with her elderly mother.
