Ernest Bergman was a prominent Dawes County rancher who died on his ranch at the age of 56 about 17 miles SW of Chadron. Mr. Bergman had been active in ranching in Dawes County for many years. He was the son of Michael and Lena Bergman. He attended Dawes County rural schools and worked in the ranching business with his father. He wed Florence Dulle, December 22, 1919. He was the father of Collette Ann, of Chadron, and son Lambert Chadron. Mr. Bergman was a member of the Catholic Church and member of the American Legion WWI veteran
