John Rainbolt is the son of Adam Rainbolt and Jane Potter. John was a prosperous farmer. During the War of 1812, he served under Capt. Solomon Hendrix's Company of Tenn. Militia. Shortly after serving in the War of 1812,John moved to Indiana. He is buried in Storm Cemetery, Center Township, Section 36, Greene Co., Indiana, about 1 mile north of Hobbieville on the west side of County Road 1320E. The Storm Cemetery is one of the oldest in the area. John's first wife, Elizabeth VanHuss, and his second wife, Freelove Boone, are also buried here
