WORLD WAR IIGrady Thacker was born July 12, 1918 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late James Manuel and Cora Bell Rhodes Thacker.

He was united in marriage to Eula Fowler on April 14, 1942.

Mr. Thacker was a retired farmer, and was a member of the Acton church of Christ in Acton, Tennessee. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Third Army Division, 180th Rifle Company. He saw action in the European Theatre. Mr. Thacker was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Thacker departed this life on May 18, 2008 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 89 Years, 10 Months, 6 Days. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eula (Fowler) Thacker of Michie, TN; a son, Danny Thacker and wife Deborah of Michie, TN; a daughter, Donna Mincy and husband Ed of Michie, TN; three grandchildren: Missy Clapp and husband Adam of Michie, TN, Sharon Mincy and fiancee Scott Barnes of Michie, TN and Marcie Barnes and husband Brian of Corinth, MS; five great grandchildren: Haley Barnes, Kelby Barnes, Austin Barnes, Brandon Clapp and Conner Clapp; a brother, Willie Joe Thacker of Burnsville, MS; a sister, Mildred Bradley of Corinth, MS; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thacker was preceded in death by a grandchild, Michael David Mincy; three brothers: J. C. Thacker, Edwin Thacker and Arnold Thacker; and a sister, Velma Thacker.
