Maybelle Elise Syverson Hallesy, 76, retired teacher of 1304 West Babcock, died Sunday at her home. Dr. Heetderks will do an autopsy.
She was born March 30, 1901, in Parkers Prairie, Minn., the daughter of Peter and Marta Hanson Syverson. She attended school in Parkers Prairie, Minn.
She attended teachers college in Alexandria, Minn. She married Clifford E. Hallesy on August 25, 1924 in Forsyth. She taught elementary school in Almora, Minn. She later taught in Ferguson County, Mt., in Reese Creek School for 13 years, in Belgrade Elementary School for 6 years and was a substitute teacher around Gallatin County. She received her B.S. at MSU in 1967. She was very active in the Hope Lutheran Church. She was a member of: "Kith and Kin" Club, Retired Teachers Assoc., Hope Lutheran Church and V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her son Clifford in 1939. She is survived by her husband, her children: Duane W. of Palo Alto, Calif., Gordon E. of Missoula, Harold W. of Yakima, Wash., Douglas N. of Belgrade, Mrs. Steve (Lois) Loeffler of Billings, Wesley Lange of Livingston, Mrs. Roger (Darlene) Nyberg of Minneapolis, Minn., and Darliss Lange of Almora, Minn., 19 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, Myrtle S. Johnson of Almora, Minn., and one brother William Harris Syverson of Almora, Minn.
Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Sunset Hills Cemetery.
