Newspaper Publisher. The owner of the Chicago "Daily News", he established a chain of correspondents that became the Daily News Foreign Service. His paper established the Fresh Air Fund. His grave marker (which does not bear his name) was sculpted by Lorado Taft and is called "Crusader."
