Maurice, who resided at 222 West Fourteenth Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on January 31, 1941, prior to the war, in Wilmington, Delaware. He was noted as being employed as a Photgrapher and also as Single, without dependents.

He was killed in a plane explosion while serving as a bombardier.

He had served in the Air Corps for three years and six months at the time of his death and was decorated with the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
