83rd yearKenneth “Red” Arnott of Tillsonburg passed away at Westminister Hospital London on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 age 82 years. Beloved husband of 43 years to his loving wife Margaret (nee: Corry) Arnott. Dear father of Bill (Michelle) Arnott of Geraldton; Margie Arnott (Harley Vianini) of Toronto. Cherished grandfather to Kenyon and Jazz Vianini. Dear brother of Jim Arnott of Ingersoll; Helen Arnott of Tucson , Arizona; Gloria Lentz of Tucson, Arizona. Also, survived by brothers-in-law Jack (Donalda) Corry of Atwood, Charles (Ethel) Corry of Listowel, as well as several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Red was predeceased by a brother Dick and his wife Olive Arnott of Middleport; his parents W.J. “Shag” and Margaret Arnott, and his in-laws James and Claribel Corry. In 1950, Red began his 37 year career with Brewers Retail in Port Rowan. After stops in Cayuga and Spanish he accepted the Managers Position in Geraldton, where he would meet his bride and raise his family. Red was a life member and past president of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 133 Geraldton; a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M #35 St. John’s in Cayuga; Masonic Lodge Kenogamisis A.F. & A.M. #656 Geraldton; a member of Khartum Shrine Temple in Winnipeg; a member of the Scottish Rite in Thunder Bay; a member of the Airforce Association of Canada, and the Halifax Aircraft Association, a member of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum of Brandon, Manitoba, and a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Tillsonburg. Red was an avid outdoorsman who often flew his own airplane into remote areas following his love of hunting and fishing. He was often surrounded by a pack of his favorite canines with whom he had a special bond. He enjoyed his ball playing years as an outstanding pitcher playing all over Ontario, and the U.S.A. and in 1947 was a member of the Ontario Intercounty Senior Baseball Champion Stratford Nationals. After making his home in Geraldton, Ontario, Red became an active curler and his team represented northern Ontario at the Canadian Legion National Championships. He was also an active volunteer with many other community organizations. Interment Ingersoll Rural Cemetery
