"Elvin M. 'Al' Frans, 85...a retired welder, died Wednesday at his home of cancer.
Graveside services will be Saturday at Highland Cemetery...
Frans was born Oct. 27, 1907, in Custer City, Okla. He worked as a welder for the state of California and moved to Great Falls in 1991 from Porterville, Calif.
In 1961 he married Mary Thomas in California. Survivors are his wife of Great Falls; a son, Kale Frans of Nampa, Idaho; a stepson, Cliff Thomas of the Dearborn area; four sisters, Nova and Betty Cargill in California and Lucille Carr and Ardi Lou Dailey in Oklahoma, six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren."

Elvin and his first wife, Mary Estelline, were divorced in 1961.
