When she was 4 years old, she came to Smith County with her brothers, sisters, and parents, William and Mattie Reynolds. They lived on a farm southwest of Kensington where she attended a rural school. She also attended high school at Kirwin and Kansas Wesleyan at Salina.
Estella taught 7 years in rural schools of Smith County before teaching the year of 1902-1903 in Kirwin. After this she spent about 18 months with her parents who had moved to Colby, Kansas.
October 12, 1904, she was united in marriage with Charles Henry Freeman. To this union were born four sons: Ralph, of Gonzales, California, Frank of Phillipsburg, Wayne of Hyderabad, India, and Carl of Kirwin, Kansas. In addition to her sons, she is survived by one brother, John Reynolds of Topeka, Kansas, 4 daughters-in-law; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren besides many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held in the Kirwin United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. February 24, 1973, with the Rev. W. Ralph Long in charge and with Robert Dyche, a grandson-in-law, bringing the message of comfort and hope.
Casket bearers were Don Werner, B. J. Westbrook, Bob Werner, Lawrence Reynolds, Wilbur Lala, and James Hagman.
Interment was in the Kirwin Cemetery.
