HYDE PARK - Roy C. Briggs, 82, a lifetime area resident, died Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. Mr. Briggs was a cab driver in Poughkeepsie. Prior to that, he retired from the Hyde Park School District. Born in Poughkeepsie on July 24, 1920, he was the son of Casper A. and Viola Daley Briggs. He married Alice Briggs, who predeceased him. He is survived by his friend, Gertrude Deeken of Poughkeepsie. He was predeceased by a sister, Claire Daley. There are no calling hours. Services will be in the spring. Burial will be in Crum Elbow Cemetery, Hyde Park, in the spring.
