Donnie, age 76, of Coalinga passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2010. Born in Tennessee in 1934, he moved with his parents, Charlie D. and Lotha Mae Gentry to Coalinga, in 1935. Donnie attended school in Coalinga and worked in the oil fields up and down the valley until he retired with his wife Sylvia in 1997. He is predeceased by his wife Sylvia Gentry; son, Loren Gentry; two brothers, James Gentry and Glen Gentry; and a sister, Della Gentry. He is survived by his daughter, Joy Carson of Hanford; brother, Morris Gentry of Coalinga; two sisters, Rosell Loftis of Tennessee and Annette Shamblin of Bakersfield; two grandsons, Robert Brewer of Coalinga, and Donnie "DJ" Brewer of Hanford; and four great-grandchildren, Cody, Alexis, Kyle and Logan Brewer. A Graveside Service will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Coalinga, Ca. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 10:00 a.m.
