Mrs. J. B. Thomas Dies in Coatsburg

Coatsburg, Ill., June 19.—Mrs. J. B. Thomas, 91, mother of Mrs. Granville Lummis, died in the home of her daughter last night at 9:15. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 in the Columbus Methodist church in charge of the Rev. J. Henry Cox. Burial will be in Pulaski cemetery near Augusta.

Mrs. Thomas was born near Bowen Nov. 27, 1864, a daughter of Edwin G. and Mary Ellen Bacon Hoyt, and had lived in and near Columbus for 50 years. She was a member of the Columbus Methodist church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She was married to Mr. Thomas Sept. 1, 1886. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are six children, Harry B. Thomas and B. Frank Thomas of Columbus, Mrs. Grace Lummis of Coatsburg, Luther E. Thomas of Grand Junction, Col., Edwin H. Thomas of Quincy and Fred R. Thomas of Chicago; two brother, B. F. Hoyt of Augusta and Charles C. Hoyt of Carthage; nine grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Grace Robbins, and a brother, Horace Hoyt, preceded her in death.
