MONROEVILLE EX-OFFICIAL

Cyrus E. "Cy" Hoekstra, 74, of Monroeville, died at 1:19 p.m. Saturday in Adams County Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Mr. Hoekstra, a native of Meckline, S.D., was a resident of Fort Wayne until 1969, when he moved to Monroeville. He retired in 1971 from Magnavox as a physicist and an electrical engineer after 35 years. He was a former president of the Monroeville Town Board for one year, and served as a member of the board for four years.

Surviving are his wife, Eldine, two sons, Lynn S., of Fort Wayne, and Eric S., of Greensboro, N.C.; two daughters; J. Ingrid Lesley, of Chicago and Mary Economou, of Homewood, Ill.; and one brother, Dr. Clarence Hoekstra, of Dallas.

Private graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in Marquart & Jacobs Funeral Home, Monroeville. Preferred memorials are gifts to the Monroeville Emergency Medical Service.
