DAVID ANDREW MEADOWS

David Andrew Meadows, son of Mary E. and John H. Meadows was born in Kentucky (actually Richland County, Illinois), November 28, 1850 and departed this life June 17, 1927, age 76 years, 6 months, and 20 days. He with his parents came to Richland County when he was six years of age.

He was married February 4, 1875 to Miss Hannah Dike. To this union were horn 4 children, William Ed­ward, Mrs. Norah Holtz, both of Olney and two sons who died, in-fancy.

Mr. Meadows was very patient during his severe suffering and ex­pressed himself as ready to go early in his last illness.

He is survived by his loving wife, one son, one daughter, 4 brothers, 1 sister, namely, George H. Meadows, Arkansas; John W. Meadows, Olney, Ill.; Wm. Meadows, Newton, Ill.; Mrs. E. J. Storer, Olney, Ill.; James B. Meadows, Olney, 111; 8 brothers and sisters having preceded him in death, also 6 half brothers and sisters, Albert M. Meadows, Olney, Ill.; Charlie M. Meadows, Buffalo, Ill.; Mrs. Bertha Duncan, Olney, Ill.; Mrs. Maggie Holtz, Floyd, IA.; Mrs. Mamie Bradshaw, Springfield Ill. Lewis Meadows, Terre Haute, Ind. and two having died in infancy. Also, a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at Blain church conducted by Rev. Bell, Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Interment was made in Blain (actually Sugar Creek)Cemetery.

Father dear, has gone and left us And his sufferings now are o'er
For we know he has joined the angels On that bright and golden shore.
Father dear, we'll sadly miss you But our loss is heavens gain
And the years will not be many 'Til we meet you once again.
