Burial will be in Johnson's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barnette, who succumbed to a lingering illness and then died at Huntsville Hospital on April 15, 2010, was born March 10, 1929 in Morgan County's Upton's Chapel community to William Walter Aldridge and Mabel Olive McCulley. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John Olen Barnette; son, J. Stephen Barnette Sr. (Helen); two daughters, Deborah J. Finley (Bill) and Patricia I. Davies; brother, James W. Aldridge; and stepsister, Jeannette Blackwood.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Barnette's grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross or The Salvation Army.
