Jacob I Stambaugh, 84, died on at 2:30 PM on April 15, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Helen E. (Burgard) Stambaugh; together they shared over 61 years of marriage.

A funeral service in celebration and thanksgiving for his life will be held on Monday at Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Lutheran Church, 3241 Church Rd., Thomasville PA with Pastor Rev. Timothy Seitz-Brown officiating. Interment will follow the service at Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Union Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 pm in the church. Family services are entrusted to Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, PC, Spring Grove.

Jacob was born in Thomasville and was the son of the late Ivory J. Stambaugh and Annie Rebecca Gentzler. He worked on his family farm as a young man, then worked as a truck driver for Service Supply and as a wire coder for Continental Wire, now Anaconda Inc. in York until her retired. Jacob was a life long member of Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Lutheran Church. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed driving tractors for Kevin Grim.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Lu Ann Stambaugh of Spring Grove; his sister Helen Musser; his brother Raymond Stambaugh; a Godson and many nieces and nephews.
