Funeral services for Mr. Dave Johnson, Jr. were at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010 in Elizabeth Baptist Church, Reverends Danny Perry and Greg Willis officiated. Interment followed in Hampton Memorial Cemetery, Elizabeth under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Mr. Johnson, 82, of Elizabeth, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 16, 2010 in Oakdale Community Hospital.

Dave was a veteran Sergeant of the United States Army and retired from Boise Cascade as Superintendent after forty three years of service. He was city councilman and mayor of Elizabeth and was also a member of the Allen Parish Sheriff's Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave, Sr. and Vergie Johnson and two brothers, Jimmy Johnson and Muriel Johnson.

Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include three daughters, Sandy Matthews of Lake Charles, Jennifer Byles and her husband, Robert of Many and Libby Strother and her husband, Dennis of Elizabeth; one brother, Tommy Droddy of Lumberton, Texas; one sister, Billie Rae Perkins of Pitkin; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
