MABEL (MAYME) AFFLACK

Mabel (Mayme) Afflack, daughter of Iassc and Sarah Jane Fairholm, was born in Madison County, Iowa , September 19, 1876. She was married to C. Raymond Afflack on April 17, 1901 and to this union two sons were born.

She lived her entire life in and around Earlham, Iowa, where she was a charter member of the Church of Christ, a member of the Order of Eastern Star 294 for 55 years and past Matron. Mayme was also a charter member of the Earlham Garden Club and served as secretary for many years.

Preceding her demise were her husband, C. R. Afflack; son, Oral Vail Afflack; a sister, three brothers, her parents and a grand daughter.

Surviving are her son, Donald H. Afflack of Parkersburg, West Virginia; a sister, Mrs. Dale Callison of Winterst; a niece, Mrs. Stanley Williamson whose loving care enabled Mayme to live the last years of her life in her own home. She also leaves three grandchildren; Donald Afflack, Jeri Thannisch, and Judi Voirin, all of Dallas, Texas; seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great neices and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 24, 1972 at the Earlham Church of Christ. The minister attending was Alex Grossnickle, the organist was Mrs. Arlene Welch and flower attendants were Mrs. Stella Lull and Mrs. Elsie Piatt. Claire Waugh, Lloyd Love, John Henkle, Verne Fairholm, Tom Ham and Stanley Williamson were casket bearers.
