Joseph A. BUCK
Of Sammamish, WA died peacefully February 3, 2006. He was 78 years old. Joe was born in Seattle, WA on November 28, 1927 to Anthony John and Eva Mae Buck. He was raised in St. Mary's Parish, Seattle, WA where he graduated from St. Mary's Grade School. Joe entered St Edward's Seminary and studied there for eleven years. He was ordained a priest on April 30, 1952. Joe served as assistant pastor in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Everett, WA and Holy Family Parish in White Center Seattle, WA. He then served as pastor in Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Snoqualmie, WA, St. Mary's Parish, Seattle, WA. and Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Seattle, WA. He was twice elected President of the Priest Council. For twenty years he served as the people of God happily, sincerely and well. He resigned from the active ministry as a priest at a meeting with the local Archbishop, the Thursday before Memorial Day, 1974. Joe married Dorothy Mae Koch one year later on May 2nd, 1975 at St. Joseph Church, Issaquah, WA. After twenty five years of great happiness together, Dorothy died on February 1, 2000. On November 30, 2002, Joe married Joanne V. Girard, at Mary Queen of Peace in Sammamish, WA. Joe and Joanne were blessed with their care and love for each other. Joe is survived by Joanne and her six children, by his brother, Carl, and by his many nieces and nephews and by his many friends. Services will be held February 8th @ 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service and the Funeral Service February 9th at 10:30 a.m., both at Mary Queen of Peace, Sammamish, WA.
