Alma Boyd Ostler, 75, passed away January 16, 1995, as the result of an auto-pedestrian accident near his home.

Born July 8, 1919, to Dr. David E. and Violet Cragun Ostler. He was raised with his brothers, David, Emmett and Bruce Ostler, in Eureka and then in Salt Lake City. Boyd graduated from South High School in 1937, then served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Lucille Peay, of Provo, in the Salt Lake Temple on August 20, 1946; and the couple had seven sons, Brian, Neal, Paul, Gary, Creed, Todd and Karl, who were all raised in Midvale. Boyd, who retired from Skaggs as a pharmacist, loved to meet and serve the public and worked in numerous drug stores in the area. His pride was his own store, Ostler Pharmacy.

A devoted member of the LDS Church, he served a mission in Canada, and accepted many callings throughout his life. After his retirement, he worked in the South Jordan Temple. In his spare time he studied the scriptures and worked on his stamp collection.

Preceded in death by two of his brothers, Dr. Howard Bruce and Emmett B. Ostler.

He is survived by his wife, his brother, David C. Ostler, of Orem, all of his seven sons, three daughters-in-law, and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services Friday, January 20, 1995, at 11 a.m. in the Midvale 3rd Ward Chapel, 75 Olympus St., Midvale. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Friday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m.
