Earl Cleveland 'Boo' Burley
Earl Cleveland "Boo" Burley, 80, of Madison Heights, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at the Medical Care Center in Lynchburg. He was the husband of the late Virginia Abbitt Burley.
Born in Amherst County, he was a son of the late William T. and Elsie M. Burley. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local Union #28.
He is survived by a son, William Michael Burley and wife, Kathy, of Powhatan; a daughter, Brenda Burley Kelly and husband, James, of Midlothian; three sisters, Dorothy Etheridge of Lynchburg, Carleen Walton and husband, Harry, of Richmond, and Barbara Pence and husband, Mahlon, of Pottstown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Christopher M. Burley and wife, Kristi, Sarah B. Black and husband, Samuel, and John and Matthew Kelly; and three great-grandchildren, Samuel, Olivia and Ethan Burley. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Glenn Burley.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008, at the Sardis Cemetery, with the Rev. Paul Land officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sardis Cemetery, c/o Granville Shrader, 240 Shady Mountain Road, Amherst, VA 24521.
