On 10 Sept 1867 Izaak Cummings and his family headed west from Butler, Butler Co., PA. They moved to Winona, MN where he was employed as a bank teller in Winona Deposit Bank. When he became ill with tuberculosis he traveled to Colorado in hopes of improving his health. He died of consumption on 13 March 1874 in Denver, CO.
His wife, Nancy and their children left Winona and returned east in 1875.
