Della B. Kiser, 98 of Newark, Ohio, formerly of Winters Road, Brookville, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Sterling House Assisted Living in Newark, Ohio.

Born March 30, 1915, in Roseville, she was the daughter of A. Leason Cowan and Bertha E. Stahlman Cowan.

She was married August 7, 1937, in Corsica, to Albert S. Kiser, who died March 19, 1991.

She worked as a caregiver for Polk State School in Polk.

She was a member of the Roseville Independent Chapel in Roseville, and a former member of the Presbyterian Church in West Middlesex for 30 years. She was a lifetime Grange member. She was a volunteer in nursing homes since 1992 and a member of the Roseville Missionary Society.

Mrs. Kiser is survived by a daughter, Kay E. Kiser Cox of Newark, Ohio; two sons, Gary L. Kiser of Newark, Delaware, and Keith E. Kiser of Deer Park, Texas; a brother, Elmer L. Cowan of Murrelis Inlet, South Carolina; and a sister, Nellie E. Beer of Dubois.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Paula M. Bowden of Newark, Ohio, Brenda S. Milie of Lafayette, Indiana, Sandra L. West of Marlborough, Mass., and Kurt L. Kiser of Bolton, Conn.; and 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Mae Burns; two sisters, B. Blanch Pitzer, and Lucille Carrier; and six brothers, John, Paul, Edgar, Wayne, Harry, and Mervin Cowan.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Fillhart officiating.

Burial will be at Roseville Bethel Cemetery, Union Township, Jefferson County.

Memorial donations may be made to Roseville Independent Chapel, 3381 Route 322, Brookville, 15825.
