Funeral Held for former State Solon
Corsicana (spl) Funeral services for J. T. Stroder, 86, former Navarro County legislator who died in Hillsboro Monday were held Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Emmett Methodist Church. Burial was in Emmett Cemetery.
He had lived at Emmett 60 years. He was in the Texas Legislature in the early 1920s.
Surviving are two sons E.R. Stroder and P.R. Stroder of Emmett; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother Ben F. Stroder of Fort Worth; and one sister; Mrs. Walter Beeman of Corsicana.

J. T. Stroder Dies Monday; Rites Tuesday

J. T. Stroder, 86, of Emmett, a former member of the Texas Legislature, died in the Kinard Convalescent Home in Hillsboro Monday afternoon following an extended illness.

Funeral services were held from Emmett Baptist church Tuesday at 4 p.m. with burial in the Emmett Cemetery.

The rites were conducted by Rev. W. H. Bradbury, Dallas, pastor of the Emmett church.

Stroder was a native of Navarro, and had resided at Emmett since the turn of the century.

He was a teacher for several years and farmed in Emmett for many years.

He was representative from Navarro county in the Texas Legislature in the early 1920s.

He was active in Missionary Baptist circles. He was a Mason.

Surviving are two sons, E.R. and P.R. Stroder, both of the Emmett community; a brother, Ben. F. Stroder, Fort Worth; a sister, Mrs. Walter Beeman, Route 1. Corsicana; three grandchildren, Mrs. Troy Conner, Route 1. Frost; Aldridge Stroder, Euless, and Kenneth Stroder, Route 1., Frost; four great-grandchildren, Gary Conner, Route 1, Frost; Mark, Karen and Matt Stroder, all of Euless, and other relatives.
