FISHKILL - Florence C. McDowell, 75, a lifetime Dutchess County resident, died Friday, April 6, 2001 at Our Lady of Mercy Health Center, Guilderland, NY. Mrs. McDowell was a member of St. Marys, Mother of the Church, Fishkill. Born in Beacon on Nov. 24, 1925, she was the daughter of James and Mary Agnes Irene Flynn Handley. On May 16, 1948 in Beacon, she married Hugh H. McDowell. Mr. McDowell died May 15, 2000. Survivors include a son, Michael McDowell of Wappingers Falls; daughters, Marianne Miller of Slingerlands, NY, and Kathleen Gormley of Waterford; son, David McDowell of Fishkill; sister, Marion Fontaine of Holliston, Va.; and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother, James Handley.
