Age 86, son of the late Nicholas and Nunzia Donatelli DiPlacido. He served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was honored with several campaign medals. He retired from Skinner Engine Co. He was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and was a life member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmella Mobilia DiPlacido; and four sisters, Carmela Squire, Antoinette DiPlacido, Elvira DelGobbo and Helen Fabrizio.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Little (Dennis), Nancy Cocco (Joseph), and Nina Hepp (Glenn), all of Erie; a son, John N. DiPlacido of Erie; seven grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
