Jonathan Griffin, 27, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Henderson, Sunday morning, Feb. 28, 2010. Jonathan was born Sept. 6, 1982, in Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Jamie (Keaton) Griffin; son, Peyton; daughter, Presley; mother, Susan Fields; stepfather, Clarence; father, Ray Griffin; stepmother, Quetta; half-sister, Breonna Griffin; half-brother, Robert Griffin; and grandmother, Ellen Stoddard. Also surviving Jonathan is his foster family, parents, Sam and Sue Blakeley; five siblings, Brad (Michelle) Blakeley, BJ (Brooke) Blakeley, Barbie (Don) Cole, Bridget Blakeley and Bo Blakeley; a grandfather; three nephews; and four nieces, all of Henderson. Preceding Jon in death were his grandmothers, "G" Marie Hernandez and "Grammy" Barbara Horner. Throughout childhood, Jonathan attended schools in Henderson - primarily Lake Mead Christian Academy - and he was a regular at several area churches.

Jon committed to following the Christian faith early in life, giving him a huge heart for people and mission work. He was a charter member of the Church at Lake Mead (Lake Mead Christian Ministries). Jonathan was an enthusiastic young entrepreneur who avidly studied business leadership for the past seven years and successfully completed his insurance and real estate licensing. Jonathan married Jamie Keaton May 3, 2002, and together, they built their real estate/investment business, The Griffin Group. Jon dedicated himself tirelessly to providing for his family and making financial investments for other people. He was best known for his great sense of humor, his energy, his generosity and his love for others. Though driven by his business pursuits, Jon spent leisure time with his family on Saturday afternoon outings or frequent trips to Disneyland. He was an active football fanatic, wearing coordinating team jerseys on Sunday afternoons. During a relatively brief time on this Earth, Jonathan made a huge impact on the people he knew - personally and professionally. As his life touched so many others, he will be terribly missed.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 5. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Following the private burial, there will be a memorial reception celebrating Jonathan's life at 4 p.m., at Lake Mead Christian Ministries, 540 E. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson, NV 89015. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lake Mead Christian Academy per Jonathan's passionate wish.
