The daughter of Samuel & Elizabeth (Herrick) Stone and wife of John Stephens died in her 76th year.

"Early Vital Records of Massachusetts (Beverly)"

In 1760, she owned the "Abigail Chest" that was passed on to successive generations of women named Abigail: Abigail Stone Stephens, Abigail Stephens Davis, Abigail Davis Pickard, Abigail Pickard Obear, and Abigail Obear Doolittle. (Info from Kay #47019646)

The Abigail Chest was auctioned by Sotheby's in 2000. "Lot 704: An important Chippendale carved walnut diminutive bonnet-top block-front chest-on-chest, "The Abigail Chest," Salem area, Massachusetts." "Description: circa 1760 in two parts, the upper section with a swan's neck pediment surmounted by three finials on fluted pilasters centering three short drawers, the center one fan-carved, and four graduated long drawers, the lower section with reverse-breuakfronted mid-molding above four graduated block fronted long drawers with a central fan pendant below on tall blocked cabriole legs, ending in claw-and-ball feet." "With its direct history of descent from the original owner, Abigail Stone (1695-1770), the present chest-on-chest is an important survival of American furniture from the North Shore of Massachusetts."
